The PHAT Conference TM
The PHAT (Promoting Healthy Active Teens) Conference was created in 2006 by teens and adult advisors representing communities across Hampton Roads, Virginia. Our passion continues today with our mission to promote healthy lifestyles, fitness and nutrition. The program's thrust is focused on building and sustaining healthy communities.
During the course of the conference's planning, the teens are encouraged to use critical thinking skills to problem-solve. The interactive activities and workshop topics are decided by the teens to assure we are meeting the needs of their peers and community.
Our event is presented by the Cooper-Mercer Institute (CMI) a nonprofit organization that supports community programs and projects for vulnerable populations. Donations for the PHAT Conference can be made through CMI.
